Administration of Dunhuang UNESCO Global Geopark Actively held World Earth Day Promotion Activities

April 22, Administration of Dunhuang UNESCO Global Geopark jointly with the Municipal Bureau of Natural Resources in Mingsha Mountain and crescent spring held the "51st World Earth Day" theme of publicity week activities. It is reported that the publicity activities will continue until April 26th.
In order to strengthen the publicity of Dunhuang UNESCO Global Geopark and enhance public awareness of environmental protection, the activities were carried out in the Mingsha Mountain and Crescent Spring, Yardang Geoarea, Yangguan and Yumen Pass through the adoption of centralized publicity and regional publicity in the way of a series of geosites of science and technology knowledge publicity activities.

Activities through the geopark to set up science knowledge panels, for passing tourists to explain the Dunhuang UNESCO Global Geopark geological knowledge, distribution of earth science and geological science knowledge publicity materials, by professional science knowledge propagandists to the participants in the activities of the formation of Yardang geomorphology, the Yumen Pass sites of the scenic area of the reasons for the formation of science and knowledge of the protection of the Yumen Pass and so on. It guided the public to establish the concept of ecological civilization and a correct view of natural resources, strengthened the pride of local residents, reinforced the sense of regional identity, and raised the awareness of the responsibility to consciously protect the geological relics and cultural heritage.
